I have come to truly appreciate the beautiful Mexican holiday called Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead.
My name is Kathy Geiger and I import sterling silver jewelry from the beautiful artisan community in Taxco, Mexico. I have been traipsing back and forth between northern Indiana and Mexico for the past 15 years and have a computer full of pictures and a heart full of respect for the men and women I work with. I also have boxes and boxes of jewelry!! Each piece has a story. Nothing has been machine made – it has been carefully and skillfully crafted by a man or woman who learned a trade to support their family, allowing them to live with dignity in their community. Their lives resonate of authenticity and I am endeavoring to telling these stories.
